A Special Edition 2020 event combines the Afterglow Night Trail Run and Surf Coast Trail Marathon in one big bundle of running joy. One date, two events, same distances, double the vibes.
Afterglow courses are unchanged. The half marathon (21 kilometres) starts at Pt Addis and hoiks it back to Torquay. The 13 kilometres kicks off at Southside and finishes at Torquay. The five kilometres starts and ends in Torquay. The dress code remains the same - loud.
SCTM – the marathon course will be reversed starting in Aireys and running back to Torquay. The SCTM half marathon will be the same as the Afterglow half course.
Trail Unicorn Ultra – you can do both distances and become an ultra trail unicorn. Crack out the SCTM mara in under 4:10 and back up with the Afterglow half (with a sit down on a bus in between). The 2020 Special Edition is going to be your only chance to do this unique double.
Beginning at twilight, this fun and fluro event encourages participants to get their groove on with a 'loud and proud' 80s theme: dress as brightly (and badly) as possible. Enjoy a saxophonist, fire twirlers and other live music on course, while a DJ spinning your fave 70s and 80s retro tunes will welcome you over the line. A fun run, to be sure....
